This project involved creating a specialized Mastodon instance with customized features to serve a specific community. The implementation included a custom authentication system and modifications to the standard Mastodon UI and functionality.

Challenge

The challenge was to create a Mastodon instance that maintained compatibility with the Fediverse while adding custom features and a tailored authentication system for the specific community's needs.

Solution

We built a custom frontend using React that interfaced with the Mastodon API, implemented specialized authentication flows, and added community-specific features while maintaining federated compatibility.
